THE DELOREAN RANCH HOUSE
For our Brides… just imagine getting ready with your friends, sipping mimosa’s while quail, cotton tail bunnies and vivid bluejay’s entertain you right outside your window. Envision exchanging vows under an ancient oak tree, with John Wayne’s initials on it, on a plateau above rolling hills, and enjoying being surrounded by 400 acres of pristine orchards all to yourselves. Image dinning alfresco, in a magnificent park-like nature sanctuary surrounded by close family and friends as a magical sunset brings the majesty of Palomar Mountain to life in the late afternoon glow. Inhale clean mountain air at dusk while you embrace during your first dance. As all the stars in the Milky Way come alive… the stars for which this extraordinary place is named. THE PERCH
This is where one can do wedding on the plateau and under John Wayne’s Oak tree. We can also have tourism education, wine pairing alfresco dinners or any special occasion
There is a breathtaking ceremony plateau enhanced by an ancient oak tree we call the One Heart, Two Limbs tree because of the trees distinctive heart shape. Here where you can say I Do, The Perch the vistas are reminiscent of Napa and Sonoma, as well as Tuscany and Provence. Fabulous alfresco gatherings can be held here too overlooking the majesty of Palomar Mountain which is San Diego’s highest peek, standing at an elevation of just over 6000 feet – the same elevation as Denver! This spectacular overlook is ideal for wedding ceremonies. So if you are planning a Destination Wedding, we are only an hour from downtown and we are San Diego’s BEST kept ceremony secret.
The Perch is one of the many “exquisite features” of The Astin Retreat, making your gathering or wedding unsurpassed. Atop at The Perch is an extraordinary backdrop where you can pledge your love to each other or just go have a picnic… either way the setting is breathtaking. Wether you choose to be nestled intimately under the Ancient Oak tree or prefer upfront and center atop the oval rock at the PERCH, you will have Majestic views of Palomar Mountain and be surrounded in every direction by pastoral farms and orchards ensuring a truly romantic setting for a kiss or for your unforgettable “I Dos!
THE MEADOW (we drive the Go Karts up here)
The Meadow is a beautiful five acre pasture currently in a natural state where guests can walk, explore and have picnics. The Meadow sits to the rear of our acreage, attached to The Meadow House. This picturesque park-like setting is abundant with wild life and is able to accommodate larger groups for wedding ceremonies, festivals, outdoor movie nights, seated corporate events or urban campouts.
We could do a tented event up here. It is a fabulous place to hike and explore too. We could even do a festival or movie night here.
THE FARM
At The Farm, our guests learn about the best practices of organic farming. We coach them on how to protect, replenish and prepare the soil to create wholesome food for optimum nutrition. Our farming education is centered in holistic and environmentally friendly practices. The Farm is surrounded by nature’s bounty. Our guests are able to connect with mother earth through hands on planting in our in the clean mountain air, pristine waters of the San Luis Ray River headwaters and the best farming soil in Southern California.
THE VALLEY WITH ORCHARD
With California poppies, lavender, herbs and orchards in every direction, lies a charming little valley nestled along a seasonal creek surrounded by grove of huge ancient oaks! This tranquil setting brings calming and soothing serenity to all.
The Valley is ideal for Mindful Health and Healing. Achieved through reflecting in nature, enjoying art therapy, meditation, yoga, hanging swings, wind chimes, cleanses and embracing live organic nutritious juicing and meals. Or just spend some time walking through the 400 acres of orchards.
